Ninja Event is a new type of league that works almost like the usual Leagues but with better rewards. You take part of the event automatically every 2 weeks (1 week Ninja Event and 1 week Alliance Wars) and you'll join one of the 14 tiers available which are based on your amount of trophies.

During the Ninja Event you'll have to fight some dungeons located on each islands and ships that you'll find as long as you keep playing.

The main currency of this event are IconNinjaCoin Ninja Coins which can be obtained after you complete an island or a ship and also in the first chest in the Chamber of Fortune (as skulls during the War Season).

You'll start from the easiest one to the hardest one for the last island and ship. Every 4 islands there is a ship to fight that breaks the monotony of doing always the same environment.

You start with a small amount of battles available that are displayed in the upper part of the screen below the banner of the event and you can increase these battles by doing some islands that can give you +2 extra battles available.

The maximum amount of battles are 30 as well as the islands + ships. This means that you mustn't fail once in dungeon if you want to get the max amount of Ninja Coins and get the first prize.

Participating in a Ninja EventEdit

Nina events offer substantial rewards but also require some commitment from players. Finishing with a perfect score can be a great motivation but missing this goal might lead to frustration. Since there is usually a big gap between the first place (shared by a number of players) and the next, even one missed tower in the entire event suddenly makes a huge difference.

Deciding on the approach and setting realistic expectations early can be helpful in order to minimize pressure, waste, and frustration.

Tiers: High or Low?Edit

At the start of an event, their trophies determine a player’s tier. Many players are actively pursuing a certain tier by either collecting or losing trophies before the event. Both have their advantages:

Higher tiers: Better rewards in terms of chests, pearls, and higher level Ninjas make it attractive to play in higher tiers.

Lower tiers: Easier levels and the chance of less ambitious competition are advantages of lower tiers.

Commitment: Casual or Competitive?Edit

Even though ninja events offer great rewards, they also require a certain level of commitment in terms of time and gems, depending on the approach.

Ignoring the event: Even though it is completely possible to sit out a ninja event, there is no upside to avoiding it altogether in favor of just doing regular raids. Most ninja levels are designed to be beaten at the first try while offering substantial gold rewards as well as a lot of medals. Occasional uber chests and rewards at the end of the event are an additional bonus.

Not playing in the event at all also means not contributing to the ninja alliance bonus. Depending on the activity in an alliance, this may or may not be a problem.

The casual approach: Playing a ninja event without fully committing to it can be a healthy compromise. Players who choose this path don't have to worry about missing a tower on the way or at the end. Spending gems in the Chamber of Fortune isn’t necessary since in the end even a few thousand ninja coins more or less won’t make much of a difference. It isn’t necessary to make time to play all 30 levels, but the final uber chest can be a good motivation.

Playing competitive: With only no direct competition between players, playing competitive translates into going for the perfect score. Getting a high score below the maximum possible score often means finishing after many players who share the first place. This means, for example, that after 15 players with perfect scores, the next player ranks 16th and only gets rewards for that rank. Since rewards between lower ranks aren't as different as between the first and (theoretical) second place, the effort for a high but not perfect score doesn't really pay off.

With the goal of reaching the perfect score in mind, players have to be careful, as they cannot afford to miss a single ninja coin. Steps to prevent this include:

  • Studying layouts before attacking.
  • Paying close attention to what towers might be near the end.
  • Gathering information from other players before attacking.
  • Selecting the right units, spells, and gear (especially scream for control) to finish a level.
  • Making sure units can be kept from destroying the gate before all towers are down.
  • Selecting the right spells to finish towers at the end. Firestorm can be especially helpful with that.
  • Playing concentrated and with close attention to destroying every structure.
  • Avoiding Dragons, since the portal may be destroyed before a tower near the gate.
  • Using gems for scrolls and resurrection, if necessary.
  • Investing gems to make sure to always open the first chest in the Chamber of Fortune.
  • Ensuring a stable connection on a stable device with a stable power supply.
  • Making time to play without interruption.

It is worth noting that environmental factors are often critical. Technical issues (like lost connections, crashes, or empty batteries) can lead to a sudden end of a player’s aspirations. Playing a series of raids when the game doesn’t forgive even the smallest mistake can also put a strain on social or family life.

Even under perfect conditions, mistakes happen. If they do and a perfect score is no longer possible, players can switch to the casual approach. This can be frustrating if it happens late, especially at the last level, which is a bit harder than the other levels.

If regular levels prove to be challenging, reaching a perfect score is already less likely. In this case, players can abandon their goal or start using scrolls in order to ensure that they can beat every level. At the final level it may then be advisable to use scrolls early on in order to be able to use them more often and really ensure a victory.
